These terms are an agreement between you and BridgeTrade Inc. ("BridgeTrade", "we", "us"). They apply to the BridgeTrade website, web app and mobile apps (the "Platform"). Please read them carefully.
By creating an account or using the Platform, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract. If you use BridgeTrade on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
BridgeTrade is an online marketplace that connects customers and landlords in Nova Scotia with independent contractors. We help with job requests, quotes, messaging, scheduling and payments, and we provide property-management tools for landlords.
We do not perform contracting work. The agreement for any job is between the customer and the contractor; BridgeTrade is not a party to it and is not responsible for the work itself.
Contractors on BridgeTrade are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. BridgeTrade does not currently verify contractors' trade licences, insurance or WCB coverage, unless a contractor's profile explicitly says that a specific item has been checked.
A "Verified" label means the contractor's identity and payout details have been verified by our payment provider, Stripe. It is not a check of skills, licences, insurance or quality of work. Before hiring, you should confirm anything that matters to you — for example, ask for proof of licence and insurance.
You must give accurate, complete information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at support@bridgetrade.ca if you think your account has been misused.
If you use BridgeTrade as a contractor:
How cancellations and refunds work for job payments, site visits and subscriptions is set out in our Refund Policy.
BridgeTrade offers tools for landlords, including the R-400 scan, maintenance plans, leases, notices and Nova Scotia Residential Tenancies forms. These tools are based on official forms and published requirements, but they provide information, not legal advice. You remain responsible for your own compliance, for checking that documents are correct and suitable for your situation, and for serving them properly. For legal advice, consult a lawyer.
Some features use artificial intelligence — for example, drafting job descriptions or quotes, transcribing voice notes and answering questions in the assistant. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Review it before you rely on it or send it to anyone; you are responsible for what you send.
You may not:
Because BridgeTrade connects customers and independent contractors, we are not responsible for:
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BridgeTrade's total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid to BridgeTrade in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be excluded.
If you have a problem with a job, first try to resolve it with the other party. You can also contact our support team, who may help. These terms are governed by the laws of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
You can delete your account at any time — see how to delete your account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
We may update these terms from time to time and will change the date at the top of this page when we do. If we make significant changes, we will tell you through the Platform or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Platform after that, the updated terms apply.
